Worship Services

Sundays at 10:00 a.m.

Our Sunday Rite II Eucharist service provides a traditional liturgy based on the Book of Common Prayer we share with the larger Church. If you’ve been to a "liturgical" church before, it will feel very familiar. Piano and sometimes other instruments accompany our singing. Hymns and service music are from various sources.

On Sundays our priest is not available we have Morning Prayer at 10:00, about once a month.

Children of all ages are welcome in church.  Felt bags with activities for small children are available from an usher. There is a rocker and quiet play space at the back of the church.  We strive to have nursery care available during Sunday services as well; our nursery room is at the end of the hall, near the church offices.

Seasonal Celtic Celebrations in the evening

Eight times per year we have evening Communion services designed and led by a team of experienced lay people, working closely with our priest.  These services are held on or about:  December 21 (winter solstice), February 1 (St. Brigid's/ Candlemas), March 21 (spring equinox), May 1 (May Day), June 21 (summer solstice), August 1 (Lammas), September 21 (autumn equinox), and November 1 (All Saints Day).
Check the church calendar for exact dates and times.

These celebrations of Celtic Christianity at St. David’s Episcopal Church conform to page 400 of the Book of Common Prayer and, as such, are referred to as ‘Rite III’ liturgies. They include music, writings, and prayers from Celtic and other spiritual traditions.  Elements of Celtic Christianity include:
• We acknowledge the Trinitarian Godhead with sensitivity to the Spirit, who influence continuing revelation.
• We see the image of God in humanity and all of creation.
• We believe that blessings and prayers are part of everyday life, and practice praying throughout the day.
• We accept that God, saints, angels, and spirits are present to guide and help us.

Weather permitting, parts of the service are sometimes held outdoors.  A potluck snack reception and fellowship time follows.

We always have ushers and other worshipers prepared to help you learn your way through the liturgy — so fear not! — come, enjoy!
