Annual Service Opportunities

United Thank Offering
The United Thank Offering is a program of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole Church, founded by and administered by women since 1889. The United Thank Offering Committee is a spiritual and financial partner in the mission work of The Episcopal Church, through every person in every pew. UTO is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the United Thank Offering monies through grants.
St. David’s members contribute financially to the UTO through the spring and fall ingatherings.

Eastern State Hospital Christmas Gifts
Each Christmas for many years St. David's members have provided gifts for ESH patients who otherwise would receive none.  Parishioners choose one or more sheets listing patients' desired items, purchase some of all of those items, and return the wrapped gifts to the church to be delivered to ESH.   This ministry grew from the efforts of two people who used to work at ESH.

Most years we sponsor around 10-12 patients.  To get involved, just choose a sheet next December.  Questions?  Contact Steve Kellen.

Habitat for Humanity-Spokane
732 N Napa St., Spokane 99220

Habitat is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and homelessness by providing home ownership to those who qualify. There are three criteria for qualification: they currently live in substandard housing, they are willing to put in 500 hours of sweat equity, and are able to pay the mortgage. Affordable housing is critical and many families live with their rent ratio over 30% of their income and barely meet other critical needs. Home ownership requires payment of a no-interest load over a 20 to 30 year period.

Habitat for Humanity-Spokane is currently developing a large tract of homes just south of Deer Park, about 16 miles north of St. David’s.  Several of our members provide hands-on assistance on the builds.  St. Martha’s Guild prepares and serves a meal to between 60-80 volunteer builders during the Blitz Build held each June.
