TRAVIS LIBRARY
Located downstairs in the parish hall, the Travis Library has a unique color-coded classification system that makes it easy to find what you’re looking for. It’s maintained by volunteer members of the Library Committee. Contents include both fiction and non-fiction resources primarily on religious and spiritual topics.
Current selections are displayed on a hallway shelf outside the library. The check-out book is on the desk, ready for your use.
Our library was established in memory of The Rev. Ronald James Travis, a 27-year member of St. David’s. Ron was ordained a deacon in 1981 and died in 1998. He was an avid reader and many of his religion books were donated to the library.

Our book for April and May is "The Bible Tells Me So: Why Defending Scripture Has Made Us Unable to Read It" by Peter Enns.
"The Bible Tells Me So chronicles Enns’s spiritual odyssey, how he came to see beyond restrictive doctrine and learned to embrace God’s Word as it is actually written. As he explores questions progressive evangelical readers of Scripture commonly face yet fear voicing, Enns reveals that they are the very questions that God wants us to consider—the essence of our spiritual study."
April 26 - Chapter 3, "God Likes Stories," pp. 73-132
May 3 - Chapter 4, "Why Doesn't God Make Up His Mind?," pp. 133-166
May 10 - Chapter 5, "Jesus Is Bigger Than the Bible," pp. 167-192
May 17 - Chapter 6, "No One Saw This Coming," pp. 193-230

WEEKNIGHT CLASSES
Monday Evening Men's Book Group
Every Monday at 4 p.m.
Catherine’s Room
All men of the church are invited to join the Mens' Book Study group on Monday afternoons. Five-six (depending on who is available) of us have been meeting weekly reading books from various authors, both religious and secular that are of interest to us. We enjoy the comraderie of discussing the books a few chapters at a time. Our discussions are sometimes challenging, and sometimes humorous but always enlightening fun. Contact Steve Kellen by email or at (509) 220-1999 for more information.
Tuesday Evening Lectionary Study at 6 p.m.
Want to hear a better sermon on Sunday? Curious about what Jesus means, but never really get it from just a quick hearing of the story and then a 10 minute sermon? How is the Old Testament connected to the New, and what does it all really mean? These questions and more…
Dig deeply into the Bible on Tuesday evenings at 6 pm either in person (in the Conference Room) or online (ask Kimmy for the Zoom link) as we consider the scripture readings for the upcoming Sunday. If you have a Bible, bring it. But if you don’t, we have extras – just come with your curiosity and questions! We’ll give you a lectionary calendar so that you can look up the texts in advance, or you can find them on https://lectionarypage.net
