2012 annual giving campaign

This year’s annual campaign focuses on baptism because it
is the life-saving, life-changing nature of baptism that makes it the
fundamental sacrament of the church. Without it, the church would not
exist. As Bishop Ted Eastman has written, “When baptism is seen as
utterly basic and central, churches come to life, becoming vital centers
of Christian life and witness.”
The Gospels make the point that the public ministry of Jesus begins with baptism. We so easily see baptism as an end rather than a beginning in the church. Like Jesus we have been baptized not so that we can go to communion, but so that we can serve God’s world. Like Jesus, we have been chosen and consecrated by the Holy Spirit. We have been baptized to share and care.
Like most Episcopal churches, St. David's main source of income is the offerings that are pledged and paid by its members. We encourage you to prayerfully consider how you can contribute to our sharing and caring -- our mission and ministries -- our baptismal life together -- by pledging your financial support.
